We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Audit Manager at our site in Riyadh .

Internal Audit is an independent function reporting directly into the BAE Systems Plc Board. Its primary aims are to provide assurance that key business risks are being managed effectively, and that the governance and controls as defined in the Group Operational Framework are in place and being adhered to.

Reporting to the Head of Internal Audit, International, the Senior Audit Manager (KSA) has a key role within the global department, leading the planning and delivery of the portfolio of internal audit assignments across BAESSA and the KPC’s. In undertaking this work, the Senior Audit Manager will have a high profile within the region, having regular interactions with business leaders and attending a variety of senior management meetings.

The Senior Audit Manager will be supported by two Audit Managers, plus subject matter experts seconded from the business and Audit Managers from other regions supporting specific KSA-led audits. The role will require some travel within the Kingdom, and occasionally internationally.

This is a high profile role, with the incumbent having regular interactions with business leaders in the region and attending a variety of senior management meetings. The role gives an unrivalled opportunity to learn how the organisation operates across BAE Systems Saudi Arabia and the Group’s Joint Ventures in the region, and to effect significant improvements to the governance and control environment. It is expected that the successful candidate will stay with the function for three years and then move into a senior business role.

Your main responsibilities as a Senior Audit Manager
- Develop and agree the BAESSA/KPC annual audit plan.
- Manage the delivery of the BAESSA/KPC audit programme on time and in line with agreed budgets.
- Provide oversight that the Global Audit Process is applied effectively in audit work carried out in the BAESSA and KPC businesses.
- Co-ordinate the production of papers for, and attend, BAESSA Audit Review Board and KPC Audit Committee meetings.
- Manage the accuracy, timeliness and effectiveness of Internal Audit reporting to senior management in the local business units, Group and the Internal Audit leadership team.
- Co-ordinate the effective and timely closure of audit issues, where actions have been completed by the business.
- Assess business risks to allow an appropriate challenge to the business: for example during the Operational Assurance Statement (OAS) process.
- Manage the internal audit department’s relationships with the leadership teams in BAESSA and the KPC’s, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Create a positive team environment while managing the performance of team members. Develop the capability of the team through on the job training and mentoring, facilitating their next moves to roles within the business
- Plan, execute and report on audit investigations and other ad hoc work as required.
- Contribute to the development of processes within Internal Audit to continuously improve the overall quality of audit work and its value to Group.

Requirements

- University degree with strong academics.
- Excellent written and spoken business English.
- 10+ years of post-degree experience working in industry or professional services.
- Experience of leading small teams to deliver high performance.
- Experience of working in a governance function/role.

Desirable
- Experience of working in a multinational environment.
- Knowledge of engineering; project management and/or procurement
- Awareness of IT risks and operations
- Internal audit experience and/or relevant professional qualifications (eg ACA)
