  • Structural engineering: Provide technical expertise in structural engineering principles, including statics, dynamics, mechanics of materials, and finite element analysis, to optimize bridge design solutions and ensure structural integrity.
  • Conceptual and detailed design: Develop conceptual and detailed designs for bridge projects, considering factors such as geometric layout, loading conditions, foundation design, seismic considerations, and constructability.
  • Code compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant international codes, standards, and guidelines governing bridge design and construction, including AASHTO, Eurocodes, and local regulations.
  • Value engineering: Collaborate with project teams to identify value engineering opportunities and innovative solutions to optimize bridge designs, reduce costs, and enhance project efficiency.
  • Technical review: Conduct technical reviews of bridge design calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports prepared by internal teams or external consultants to ensure accuracy, quality, and adherence to project requirements.
  • Construction support: Provide technical support during construction phases of bridge projects, including responding to requests for information (RFIs), reviewing shop drawings, conducting site inspections, and resolving technical issues as they arise.
  • Risk management: Identify potential risks and challenges associated with bridge design and construction, and develop mitigation strategies to address these risks proactively.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or structural engineering.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in bridge engineering roles, with a focus on design and analysis of bridge structures.
  • Professional engineering (PE) license or equivalent certification in structural engineering.
  • Extensive experience in the design and construction of bridges for road, highway, and tunnel projects.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., SAP2000, MIDAS Civil, LUSAS) and design software (e.g., CSiBridge, STAAD.Pro).
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and techniques related to bridge construction.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
