We are currently seeking a highly experienced senior civil engineer to join our team in Riyadh. WSP is currently looking for senior civil engineers to work on the construction of a major roads and highways project in Riyadh. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 15 years of experience in civil engineering, with a strong background in similar roads and highways construction projects.

Responsibilities

Project management and coordination:

• Lead multidisciplinary project teams in the planning, design, and execution phases of infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with client objectives, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
• Coordinate with stakeholders, including clients, contractors, regulatory authorities, and consultants, to facilitate effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.

Site supervision and quality assurance:

• Provide technical oversight and guidance during construction activities, conducting regular site visits to monitor progress, quality, and compliance with engineering specifications and standards.
• Implement rigorous quality assurance and control measures to uphold the highest standards of construction excellence, identifying and addressing any deviations or discrepancies promptly.

Design review and technical support:

• Review engineering designs, drawings, and technical documentation prepared by internal and external teams, ensuring accuracy, feasibility, and compliance with project requirements.
• Provide technical support and guidance to project teams, resolving complex engineering issues and optimizing design solutions to enhance project performance and efficiency.

Risk management and safety compliance:

• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks related to construction activities, safety hazards, and environmental impacts, implementing proactive measures to minimize potential disruptions and ensure a safe working environment.
• Ensure compliance with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations, standards, and best practices, promoting a culture of safety awareness and accountability among project stakeholders.

Client relationship management:

• Cultivate strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs, preferences, and expectations, and proactively addressing any concerns or challenges to enhance client satisfaction and foster long-term partnerships.
• Provide regular project updates, progress reports, and technical presentations to clients, demonstrating transparency, professionalism, and a commitment to delivering value-added solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field. Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on construction management.
• Professional engineering license or equivalent certification preferred.
• Extensive knowledge and experience in the design, construction, and management of transportation infrastructure projects, including roads, bridges, highways, tunnels, railways, metros, and related infrastructure.
• Strong technical expertise in civil engineering principles, practices, and design standards, with proficiency in relevant software tools and technologies.
• Excellent project management skills, with the ability to lead and motivate multidisciplinary teams, manage project budgets and schedules, and deliver successful outcomes.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise confidently with clients, stakeholders, and team members from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
• Proven track record of delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget, with a focus on quality, innovation, and client satisfaction.
• Fluency in English; Arabic language skills would be advantageous.
