Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Our client, a philanthropic organisation requires a Senior Communication Officer to join on a permanent residential basis in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The Senior Communication Officer is a highly motivated individual with a positive attitude, this person will be responsible for producing briefings ahead of the Principal’s meetings and to develop research reports on topics relevant / interesting to the Principal and the Executive Manager of the Principal’s Private Office. You will work on a number of different topics including current affairs, international affairs, business, technology and philanthropy.

The detailed duties and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Produce insightful profiles of the people the principal is expected to meet (bio, goals, motivations, values, positions on specific topics, interests, questions they might ask etc)
- Produce summary of news and current affairs related to / relevant for the people the Principal is expected to meet
- Draft meeting talking points for the Principal’s meetings and review those with the Executive Manager of the Principal’s Private Office
- Monitor current events on topics identified by the Principal and / or the Executive Manager of the Principal’s Private Office and produce periodic (daily / weekly) summaries and analysis
- Proactively propose research topics that could be of interest for the Principal to be up to date with and, if accepted, develop periodic updates
- Develop PR, Media and Communication strategy.
- Develop media campaigns, including strategy, goals, tactics and budget.
- Develop, monitor and manage press releases.
- Develop speeches for the Principal and Executive Manager.
- Create and maintain positive public image of the Principal and her office.
- Preparing media kits.
- Understanding latest social media trends and passion for staying up to date.
- Analyze and report on social media activity and political news.

Requirements

- Suitable candidates will have a bachelor’s Degree with high academic achievements
- With at least 5+ years of relevant experience in a government entity (ministry or agency) or private sector company
- With a minimum of 3 years of experience in a research role with previous experience in foundations considered a plus.

- Detail oriented, responsible and ensures delivery of accurate information
- Able to clearly articulate his / her thoughts and communicate effectively orally and in writing Interested in global affairs, economic and financial issues
- Interested in social issues and philanthropic causes
- Gentle and comfortable with an impactful behind-the-scenes role
- Fluent in social media platforms
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point)
