The role

Senior Contract Administrator

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the compilation of tender, evaluation and selection of professional services contractors (including obtaining firm prices and/or budget estimates for future works and variations and proof of insurances).
• Reviewing, assessing and processing contractor payment requests, variations, claims and invoices.
• Preparing, issuing and responding to general correspondence in relation to the contract in question.
• Contributing to and managing the project forecasts and budget estimates for the project.
• Contributing to identification, reporting and mitigation of project risks, including management of the risks.
• Reviewing and redrafting (as necessary) correspondence with the main works contractor.
• Reviewing and giving advice on meeting minutes and other records including main works contractor monthly reports.
• Receiving, issuing, managing and financially evaluate all change and/or claim matters.
• Coordinating and facilitating change reviews.
• Evaluating progress claims (incorporating advice from project management team).
• Developing, managing and updating the commercial risk register and risk management plan.
• Developing and implementing contract issue strategies.
• Managing change processes including evaluation of time/cost/quality and functional effects.
• Reviewing insurance documents and undertakings.

Requirements

Your experience, knowledge and skills need to include:

• Minimum 14 years’ experience in cost/commercial/contract administration.
• Experience in contract management on major projects.
• Retail/mall experience would be an advantage.
• Good knowledge of local commercial law and legal requirements.
• In depth knowledge in managing construction projects and related contracts.
• High level of commercial, contract, legal and business acumen.
• Excellent standards of written and verbal communication in English with knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
• Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
• Good knowledge of IT.

Qualifications

• A degree qualification in business, law, civil engineering or quantity surveying is preferred.
• Professional memberships i.e. MRICS or other chartership is preferred.
• FIDIC or PMP certification is preferred.
