Senior Design Manager - Mechanical

The Senior Mechanical Design Manager is responsible for leading the mechanical design team in the development, testing, and optimisation of innovative mechanical systems and components. This role involves overseeing the entire design process from conceptualisation to production, ensuring that all projects meet the required specifications, budget, and time line.

The client is a prominent real estate developer specialising in the creation of hospitality and mixed-use assets, combining residential, commercial, and recreational spaces.

Description

* Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of mechanical engineers and designers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
* Project Management: Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring adherence to time lines, budgets, and quality standards.
* Design Oversight: Direct and participate in the creation of detailed mechanical designs, drawings, and specifications for new products and systems.
* Technical Expertise: Provide technical guidance and expertise in mechanical design, materials selection, and manufacturing processes.
* Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain robust quality control processes to ensure the highest standards of product reliability and performance.
* Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including electrical, software, and manufacturing engineers to ensure cohesive product development.
* Innovation: Drive continuous improvement and innovation in design processes and technologies.
* Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of design processes, changes, and updates.
* Compliance: Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements.
* Customer Interaction: Engage with clients to understand their needs, provide technical support, and ensure customer satisfaction.

* Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
* Experience: Minimum of 13 years of experience in mechanical design and engineering, with at least 5 years in a managerial or leadership role within Retail , Residential , Hospitality etc projects
* Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Solid Works, Auto CAD), and other relevant engineering tools.
* Leadership: Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
* Project Management: Strong project management skills with a track record of successfully delivering complex projects.
* Problem Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically and innovative.
* Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of industry standards and best practices in mechanical design and manufacturing.
