Job description / Role
• Engineering, Design and construction of electrical power systems in large-scale infrastructure projects, including power generation, substations, HV/MV/LV cable networks, road lighting, intelligent transport systems (ITS), and pump stations.
• Prepare and review technical documents (such as method statement) and submit related technical documents to consultant and discuss with consultant to make them approved.
• Solve technical problems that arise on site and guide construction.
• Assist related departments in solving technical issues, coordinate with other engineers and professionals in related fields.
• Prepare and present technical reports and presentations.
• Be responsible for electrical system optimization and value engineering.
• To complete as built drawings.
• Other works assigned by Infrastructure manager.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (mandatory); master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 12 years' experience working on mega projects involving coordination with the National Grid and Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) for design and construction approvals.
• At least 5 years of experience in electrical engineering design and over 7 years in construction project execution.
• Approved by the National Grid and Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) for electrical system design and construction.
• Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) with experience in managing electrical projects and ensuring alignment with project objectives.
• Experience in the design and construction of power supply systems, including HV/MV/LV cable installation, electrical substations, street and roadway lighting, ITS, and pump stations.
• Extensive experience in the design and construction of power supply systems for infrastructure projects, including HV/MV/LV cable installation, electrical substations, road lighting, intelligent transport systems (ITS), and pump stations.
• Ability to prepare and review method statements for electrical works, ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
• Proven experience in coordinating with the National Grid and Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) for approvals and technical decisions.
• Experience working on multi-disciplinary engineering projects, with the ability to coordinate electrical designs with supporting disciplines such as drainage, roadway, bridge, and aesthetics.
• Fluent in spoken and written English with the ability to prepare detailed technical reports.
• Arabic native language preferred to facilitate communication with local project stakeholders, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Prepare request for quotation (RFQ) documents, including technical specifications, drawings, and BOQ for electrical systems.
• Review suppliers' offers/quotations and provide detailed technical evaluation reports.
• Prepare detailed designs, including technical specification descriptions (TSD) and installation/shop drawings.
• attend meetings with employers, engineers, and consultants to clarify and resolve design issues until final approval.
• Provide weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual progress reports on project status, challenges, and solutions.
• Support the bidding team during the tender stage by providing pre-engineering input, material take-off (MTO), BOQ preparation, and cost estimates for electrical systems.
