Overview / Responsibilities
Wood is currently recruiting for a Senior Environmental Project Manager to work with our team in Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia
- In charge of the delivery of consent related workstreams of environmental projects.
- Lead stakeholder and client engagement & Management of internal & subcontractor teams.
- Financial & programme management.
- Manage and maintain the project consent budget, risk register and schedule.
- Represent Wood on project and programme management aspects of our delivery.
- Actively promote and demonstrate a strong safety culture in project design and working environment.
- Lead multi-disciplinary teams.
- Interface with the wider project stakeholders including engineering teams, planners, consultation leads, and lawyers, as may be applicable.
- Lead on client project communications & enhance client relationships through exceptional communication and active listening skills.
- Support our Sales and Growth teams to develop relationships with existing customers in the sector, identify new opportunities and build relationships with new clients.
- Responsible for compliance with applicable policies and procedures.
- Ensures quality and effectiveness of key results of major projects within function through sound design, early risk assessments, and implementation of fallback strategies.
- Understands the business needs and has a thorough knowledge of the customer when developing a project scope.
- Uses established PM tools and techniques (FEP, Cash Flow Projections, Scope / Schedule Control, etc.) to stay within authorized budget limits and achieve the overall project and organizational objectives.
- Contributes to the development of project management best practices.
- Directs and manages Project Execution by performing the work defined in the project plan to achieve project objectives.
- Defines roles and responsibilities.
- Monitors and controls project work to meet the performance objectives defined in the project plan.
- Focuses on cost and milestone achievement to optimize resource utilization.
- Reviews change requests, manages and approves changes to the deliverables, organizational process assets, project documents, and the project plan.
- Closes the project by finalizing all activities across all the Project Management Process Groups to formally complete the project or phase.
- Creates or coordinates the solutions for complex problems; integrates regulatory and operational needs; performs cost / benefit analysis.
- Resolves problems and crisis situations requiring fast, astute decisions with rapid implementation by utilizing technical training and /or e experience.
- Mentors others by sharing knowledge and expertise and providing feedback and guidance. Establishes relationships and good communication channels with clients; documents agreements and commitments.
- Acts as a trusted advisor.
- Balances bottom line objectives of a project with the long-term interest of customer.
Requirements
Skills / Qualifications Qualifications
- Bachelors/Masters in engineering, environmental science, environmental planning, or equivalent experience in a relevant subject area.
- 10+ years of professional experience, preferably with an environmental consulting organization.
- Demonstrated commitment to HSE leadership.
- Knowledge in the environmental and regulatory issues associated within KSA.
- Knowledge in IFC performance standards and Equator Principals.
- A working understanding of the regulatory and governmental community (Excellent client and agency interfacing skills).
- Track record of successful management of projects / work packages to meet agreed budget and schedule.
- Technical reporting prowess.
- Demonstrable Project Management experience for complex EIA, ESIAs, Baseline Surveys and Consenting Projects.
- A degree qualification in a relevant subject.
- Experience of managing large projects from early conception, through consents.
- Experience of developing and managing bids for consenting projects.
- Prior experience of leading project teams and influencing senior stakeholders would be beneficial.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills preferred.
