Objective:
This position is responsible for implementing health, safety, and environmental (HSE) programs within the distribution center. The role ensures compliance with local regulations and company standards, conducts risk assessments, promotes a strong safety culture, and supports continuous improvement in workplace safety and sustainability practices.
Key responsibility:
HSE policy implementation
- Develop and implement HSE policies, procedures, and operational guidelines aligned with local laws and company objectives.
- Ensure compliance with global and regional safety standards and regulatory bodies.
Risk assessment & compliance
- Conduct workplace risk assessments and safety audits to identify potential hazards and unsafe practices.
- Recommend and implement corrective measures to mitigate risks.
- Monitor compliance with safety protocols and support audit readiness.
Incident management
- Lead investigations into incidents, accidents, and near-misses; perform root cause analysis and implement preventive actions.
- Maintain incident reports and corrective action tracking systems.
Training & awareness
- Organize safety training programs, toolbox talks, and HSE inductions for employees and contractors.
- Promote safety culture through awareness campaigns and continuous communication.
Safety inspections & emergency preparedness
- Perform routine safety inspections of equipment, storage areas, and emergency systems.
- Develop and conduct emergency drills and response plans in coordination with relevant teams.
Reporting & documentation
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for safety inspections, incident logs, and training attendance.
- Generate regular reports and dashboards for HSE leadership and DC management.
PPE & environmental initiatives
- Ensure availability and correct usage of PPE across all operational areas.
- Support environmental sustainability projects such as waste reduction and energy conservation.
Desired experience:
- 5-7 years of relevant experience in health, safety & environment, preferably within a warehouse, logistics, or distribution center environment.
- Working knowledge of occupational safety regulations and international HSE standards.
- Hands-on experience in conducting safety audits, trainings, and risk assessments.
- Strong communication and reporting skills with an ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
