Job description / Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Lawyer with a strong focus on technology law to join our dynamic legal team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the legal frameworks governing technology, intellectual property, data protection, and cybersecurity. This role will involve providing strategic legal advice to clients in the tech industry, navigating complex legal issues, and ensuring compliance with local and international regulations. The successful candidate will be a key player in shaping our legal strategies and helping our clients thrive in the rapidly evolving tech landscape.
Responsibilities:
- Provide expert legal advice on technology-related matters, including software licensing, data protection, e-commerce, and intellectual property rights.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of legal documents, contracts, and agreements pertaining to technology transactions.
- Advise clients on compliance with local and international data protection laws, including GDPR and other relevant regulations.
- Conduct legal research and analysis on emerging technology issues, legal trends, and regulatory changes affecting the tech industry.
- Represent clients in legal proceedings, including disputes related to technology, intellectual property, and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business development, product management, and compliance, to provide legal support for new initiatives and projects.
- Assist in the development and implementation of internal policies and procedures related to technology law and compliance.
- Stay abreast of technological advancements and the legal implications of new technologies, such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, and cybersecurity.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing exceptional service and fostering trust.
- Mentor and train junior legal staff, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience practicing law, with a focus on technology law, intellectual property, and data protection.
- Strong understanding of the legal and regulatory framework governing technology in Saudi Arabia and internationally.
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex legal matters and providing strategic legal guidance to clients.
- Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly and effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluency in Arabic and English is required; additional languages are a plus.
- Proactive and results-oriented, with a passion for the technology sector and its legal challenges.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships and work effectively with various stakeholders, including clients, colleagues, and regulatory authorities.
Salary:
SAR
40,000 to 60,000
per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
About the Company
Executive search involves working with a third party, such as JEX Personnel.
Executive search is relationship driven. JEX Personnel will work closely with you to understand the requirements of the role. It is a research-led approach, meaning a search firm will be paid a retainer fee upfront to carry out analyse the marketplace and benchmark for skills/roles and salaries.
A search firm will tend to have extensive knowledge of and access to board directors and senior executives across industries and functions, allowing them to build a large pool of top executive talent
