Senior Manager – Data Management Office (DMO)

Job description / Role

The Senior Manager – Data Management Office is responsible for establishing, governing, and continuously improving enterprise-wide data management capabilities. The role ensures data is treated as a strategic asset by defining data governance frameworks, policies, standards, and controls that enable high-quality, secure, and compliant data across the organization.

• Define and implement enterprise data governance frameworks, operating models, and data ownership structures
• Establish data policies, standards, and procedures covering data quality, metadata, lineage, privacy, and retention
• Drive alignment between data strategy and business objectives
• Define data quality dimensions, KPIs, and monitoring mechanisms
• Oversee root-cause analysis and remediation of critical data quality issues
• Embed data controls into upstream and downstream systems and processes
• Define and enforce data ownership, data stewardship, and accountability models
• Lead and coordinate data owners and stewards across business units
• Chair or contribute to data governance forums and committees
• Ensure compliance with data-related regulatory requirements (e.g., BCBS 239, GDPR, local data regulations, internal risk policies)
• Partner with Risk, Compliance, Legal, and Audit teams on data-related matters
• Support regulatory exams, audits, and internal control assessments
• Oversee implementation and adoption of metadata management and data lineage tools
• Ensure transparency and traceability of critical data elements across systems
• Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture and IT on data architecture standards

• 10 years of experience in data management, data governance, or enterprise information management
• Minimum 5+ years in a senior management or leadership role
• Strong experience in regulated industries (banking, financial services, insurance, capital markets)
• Proven track record of setting up or scaling a Data Management Office or similar function
