Role overview

We are seeking a highly experienced senior manager / estimator to lead and manage the estimating function for complex capital projects. The ideal candidate will bring 15+ years of experience in cost estimation, with at least 5 years in a PgMC/PMC managerial capacity, overseeing multidisciplinary teams and delivering accurate, timely estimates for high-value projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates across all project phases (conceptual, feasibility, detailed design, execution).
• Manage and mentor a team of estimators and quantity surveyors.
• Interface with project management, engineering, procurement, and finance teams to ensure alignment on scope and cost.
• Review and validate contractor and consultant estimates and proposals.
• Develop and maintain cost databases, benchmarking tools, and estimation templates.
• Ensure compliance with client standards, industry best practices, and contractual obligations.
• Support risk analysis and value engineering exercises.
• Present estimates and cost reports to senior stakeholders and clients.
• Participate in bid evaluations, negotiations, and contract award processes.
• Contribute to strategic planning and budgeting for PgMC/PMC operations.

Qualifications & experience

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, quantity surveying, construction management, or related field.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in cost estimation, with at least 5 years in a PgMC/PMC managerial role.
• Proven experience on large-scale infrastructure, industrial, or construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of estimation software (e.g., Candy, CostX, Cleopatra, or similar).
• Familiarity with international standards (e.g., AACE, RICS, FIDIC).
• Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
• PMP, CCP, or MRICS certification is a plus.
