Employment: Full Time


Air Products is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer with static and rotating experience to work in the Engineering Organization located in their office in Dhahran Techno Valley, in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The successful candidate will be required to have a good approach to health, safety and environment and can work across multi discipline teams as well as different cultures around the world. We are looking for a candidate with good communication skills in both verbal and written English and all-round flexibility to commit time and effort to achieve project requirements.

The ability to travel when required, both to job sites and other engineering offices in the UK, US, India and China on a planned basis.
The successful candidate will be required to work independently and serving in a lead position, in which he/she assist the Project Manager, Business Development and Sales in Client contacts.


• Knowledgeable technology source for rotating and static equipment.
• Involvement with proposals for future work such as estimating man hours.
• Prepares and reviews engineering studies, design drawings and documents, material and equipment specifications.
• Prepare technical bid evaluations and make recommendations for purchase
• Review (local) supplier data to assure specifications and project requirements are met
• Participates in planning, cost development, management and scheduling activities for assigned projects
• Review critical path and long lead equipment packages
• Provide technical direction for project rotating and static equipment selection
• Coordinate client requirements and standards for equipment.
• Interface with (local) suppliers for compliance with equipment performance metrics
• Provide technical support to project management, vendors, field engineering and construction.
• Managing outsourced work of 3rd party Engineering Companies
• Interface with local authorities and implement local requirements and legislation in all related project documentation.
• Resolves specialty related engineering issues by applying accepted principles, codes, and standards.
• Directs activities to ensure that construction, installation, and operational testing is conform to functional specifications, recognized codes, standards, and customer requirements
• Maintains effective communication with project team members and with the customer



• The Senior Mechanical Engineer shall hold a B. Sc. Engineering Degree.
• 10+ years of total related experience in rotating and static equipment is required
• General knowledge in pressure vessel and rotating equipment application engineering used in the following technology is recommended:
• Cryogenic Air separation and liquefaction
• Cryogenic hydrocarbon and natural gas separation and liquefaction
• Helium recovery, purification/liquefaction
• Adsorption separation/purification systems
• Steam-methane reforming
• High-temperature catalysis
• Absorption systems
• Partial oxidation/gasification
• CO2 purification/liquefaction
• Experience in various phases of supplier selection and technical negotiation
• Experience in equipment manufacturing and testing
• Experience in machinery and equipment installation and start-up
• Experience in engineering and/or construction work process
• Site refinery and/or chemical plant facility experience
• Must have thorough knowledge of engineering practices and economic principles, calculation methods. design details, international codes and standards, procedures, and specifications.
• Have knowledge in the use of industry wide design software packages.
• Bring experience to suggest new economical ways in designing the work – identify problem areas in the work practices and suggest improvements based on feedback and own previous experience.
