Job description / Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Engineering Consultancy team in Saudi Arabia. In this role, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality and compliance of mechanical systems in a variety of building and infrastructure projects. You will collaborate closely with clients, contractors, and internal teams to review designs, supervise construction, and ensure adherence to project requirements and industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Possess a deep understanding of mechanical engineering principles and project requirements. Critically review and approve mechanical designs, calculations, and specifications, ensuring compliance with codes, standards, and client requirements.
- Collaborate effectively with architects, engineers, and other disciplines to ensure integrated design solutions and seamless project execution.
- Proactively address potential quality, workmanship, compliance, and design issues related to mechanical works, implement innovative solutions, and contribute to value engineering and cost optimization efforts.
- Review and comment on technical submittals, including shop drawings, material submittals, and test reports. Prepare comprehensive technical reports, specifications, and project documentation.
- Assist in reviewing variation orders, preparing handover documentation, and contributing technical input on project financials and payments.
- Develop and oversee testing and commissioning procedures for mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with project requirements and performance standards.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in mechanical engineering to drive innovation and improve service offerings.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or more in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- At least 10 years of experience in the field of Mechanical engineering, with a focus on engineering consultancy or related industries.
- Excellent knowledge of engineering systems, technologies, principles, codes and practices.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly to clients and stakeholders
- Strong problem-solving skills with innovative solutions and the ability to think critically and creatively in high-pressure situations.
- Proficient with relevant software programs.
- Excellent English Language skills
- Must be SCE Certified (Professional or Consultant)
- Must have a Valid and Transferable Iqama (if non-Saudi).
