Senior Pipeline Engineer

Our client, one of the largest engineering, design and project management companies, is looking for a Senior Pipeline Engineer to work on oil/gas projects based out of their office in KSA.

Working with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, this offers a great opportunity to gain valuable experience and exposure in design and detailing of onshore and offshore facilities.

Core Responsibilities:
- Conceptual, Front End Engineering Design, Detailed Design & Engineering of Onshore/Cross Country Pipelines as per ASME B31.4 and ASME B31.8.
- Responsible for field survey and pipeline route selection and preparation Pipeline Route Maps, Alignment sheets, Station approaches, Crossing details, Hydrostatic test Diagrams, Pipeline details and MTO summary for pipeline projects.
- Preparing Pipe Wall Thickness design calculations, Hydrotest Pressure Calculations, Crossing Design, Buoyancy, Upheaval Buckling, Hot tapping Calculations, Stress and Stability analysis.
- Preparation of engineering documents such as Pipeline Design Basis, Design Reports, Pipeline Datasheet, Material Specifications & Datasheets for all kind of pipeline components.
- Preparation of specifications for Hydrotest, Cleaning, Drying, Pre-commissioning, Pipeline baseline survey using online inspection tools etc.
- Design of CP system for pipelines, including preparation of CP system design basis, specifications, scope of work, Schematics, typical details etc., (with necessary inputs from other disciplines concerned).
- Preparation of Pipeline survey scope of work, assistance during vendor offer review, etc.
- Off Plot Design & Engineering of flowlines and bulklines.
- Experience with Materials such as GRE, DSS and Carbon Steel with different types of internal linings/coatings.
- Preparation of Material requests (MRs) and Technical Bid Evaluation (TBE) of pipeline items such as Linepipes, Fittings, Induction bends, Barred Tees, Isolation Joints, Flanges, Anchor Flanges, Fittings, Valves, Corrosion Coupons, Heat Shrink Sleeves, Pig Launchers & Receivers, Pig Signalers, CP system components etc.
- Review and approval of engineering submissions from EPC Contractors, sub-contractors, Vendors.
- Attend design review meetings, HAZOP, HAZID, Engineering Interface meetings
- Attend meetings with Authorities and other operating companies etc. as required for getting approvals.
- Conversant with ANSI/ASME B31.3, B31.4, 31.8, API 5L, API 5LC, MSS-SP Standards, ASTM standards, ISO standards, API RP1102, API 6D, API 598, API 600, API 602,NACE MR01-75, Shell DEPs and other relevant International Codes & Standards.
- Familiar with Quality requirements for site construction activities, WPS/ PQR etc.
- Constructability and EIA reviews.
- Construction support including attending to site queries & site related issues and preparing field/design change proposals, pipeline laying procedures / method statements, processing of design change notifications etc.
- Preparation of Feasibility Study Reports for new pipeline projects.

Requirements

- First class Engineering Graduate in Mechanical/Civil discipline from a reputable University.
- Minimum 10 years experience in design engineering of Pipelines for Oil & Gas industry.
- Knowledge of Pipeline design codes ASME B31.4 & B31.8 would be added advantage
- Experience in subsea pipelines design & engineering is an advantage.
- Preferably with GCC experience
- Good reporting skills
