Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Education/Certification/Experience:

- Bachelor Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Fire Engineering with professional certification in process safety OR General Science Graduate with studies in Loss Prevention and professional Certification/License in process safety.
- 15+ year experience in the oil & petrochemical process safety industry.
- Professional certification in process safety/loss prevention by a recognized certifying organization.

Specific knowledge & business understanding:

- Expertise and proven record of conducting PHA studies including HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, LOPA etc.
- Knowledge of QRA & BRA techniques, preparation, and analysis.
- Expertise in fire and safety engineering standards such as HCIS-SAF, NFPA, API, IBC, etc.
- Expertise in applying root cause analysis in process related incident investigations.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Areas Of Responsibility/ Duties

- Lead and facilitate Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) studies such as HAZID, HAZOPs, LOPA, etc
- Provides expert advice and assistance to design, construction and maintenance engineers and operating personnel on all matters pertaining to safety engineering.
- Lead Safety Department engineering reviews of fire & safety designs of mega projects. This includes; FEED stage reviews, detailed design reviews, 3D Model reviews,…etc
- Support in the preparation, reviews, and analysis of quantitative risk assessments, building risk assessments, and facility siting studies
- Participate in major and moderate incident investigations

The plant is valued at US $10 billion and originally produced 18.4 million tons per annum (mtpa) of petroleum-based products and 2.4 mtpa of ethylene and propylene-based derivatives.

Our products are used in such end products as plastics, detergents, lubricants, resins, coolants, anti-freeze, paint, carpets, rope, clothing, shampoo, auto interiors, epoxy glue, insulation, film, fibers, household appliances, packaging, candles, pipes and many other applications.

Petro Rabigh II is an expansion project valued at US $8.4 billion - 25% funded by the public and the remainder equally funded by Saudi Aramco and Sumitomo Chemical. Petro Rabigh II is scheduled to be in full production by 4th Quarter 2017 and will produce a wide range of new products.
