Senior Project Planner

Job description / Role

Major civil engineering & infrastructure scheme worth in excess of $200 million USD. Managing the planning function on site handling a team of 3 planners. Reporting director into the senior project manager on site you will be the no1 leading the schedule and baseline.

Major Project underway on the West Coast of KSA. If you are a senior planner with major project experience for a Civil Engineering & Infrastructure main contractor in the gulf you will want to read on.

Are you a Senior Project Planner / Planning Manager that understands change , dispute resolution, variations and claims all affect the baseline program.

This is a major project that needs someone that understands the challenges of main contracting in the mena region on heavy civil engineering schemes.


Key responsibilities

• project planning and scheduling
• resource and time management
• progress and reporting
• risk management and identification
• stakeholder management, subcontractor coordination and extensive communication & collaboration up and downstream
• able to present and protect the program
• work within the leadership team to hit targets and achieve success as a collective
• budget and cost control – working in tandem with commercial department on site
• change management and recovery programs to push within the construction teams on site
• look at outputs and see where efficiency and changes can be made

Can you handle a client, baseline, changes and communicate with all parties both internal and external. Can you have a honest conversation with the Construction Management team and sub-contractors to report actual versus projected. This won’t always make you popular but if you have the right communication skills then the message will be embraced as you build a close working relationship.

Daily / Weekly Duties

• subcontractors assessment to program
• delay analysis
• providing support to distress programs that need guidance
• manage a project and manage , monitor and provide all key ratios and activities to management

Overview requested

• Clear & precise communication skills ( English & Arabic desired)
• Degree – civil engineering
• PMP / prince 2
• At least 10 years experience on the main contracting side in the MIDDLE EAST on relevant civil engineering & infrastructure projects involving vast concrete, earthworks and geotechnical work
• Solid software experience on Primavera 6 & ms project
• Strong analytical and problem solving initiatives skills, able to dig into the detail and spot errors
• Confident at client facing and getting the message up and downstream building collaboration with the project team, client and supply chain

PACKAGE

• basic salary range up to 45,000 sar per month
• accommodation and meals provided
• 1 return flight to home country if based within the MENA REGION

Please make it clear to us why a remote camp posting works. This location is ONLY suitable for single status posting due to the remoteness and conditions. Due to the fast paced nature of work this is a 6 day working week.

Salary:
SAR 38,000 to 45,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
