Job description / Role
Job Purpose
Lead and optimize the procurement process, ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely acquisition of materials. Optimize Strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the purchasing function.
Key Accountability Areas
Market Investigation and Requirements:
- Conduct market research for strategic raw materials, considering specifications and performance requirements.
Coordination and Requisition:
- Collaborate with the design department to identify requisition requirements, ensuring compliance.
Purchase Order Finalization:
- Finalize purchase orders based on planning requirements following established purchasing procedures.
Cost-Effective Purchasing:
- Ensure cost-effectiveness in the purchasing process while upholding the highest quality standards.
Tendering and Costing Support:
- Provide support to the Tendering and Costing Department as needed.
Payment Coordination:
- Coordinate with the account team to facilitate the payment process to suppliers.
- Process LC/IBC for payment.
Shipment Coordination:
- Issue the necessary IBD for shipment and coordinate with the logistics team for shipment/clearance.
Supplier Follow-Up:
- Follow up with suppliers to guarantee the timely delivery of materials.
- Take necessary actions to close NCR by communicating with suppliers, the quality department, and MRB.
Supplier Sourcing and Development:
- Source suppliers for new items required and adhere to the purchasing procedure.
- Develop current/new suppliers for raw materials to enhance benefits and improve their capability and performance.
Requirements:
Quality Collaboration:
- Collaborate with the Quality team to achieve supplier performance analysis.
Role Accountability
HR Proficiency:
- Ability to obtain updated soft and technical skills related to the job.
Delivery:
- Perform the planned activities to meet the operational and development targets as per delivery schedules.
- Utilize resources effectively to achieve objectives within efficient cost and time.
- Provide a periodic report formatted by detailing the deviation and execution of planned tasks.
Problem-Solving:
- Solve any related problems arise and escalate any complex operational issues.
Quality:
- Ensure quality requirements to develop effective quality control and processes including specifications for products or processes or related activities.
Business Process Improvements:
- Coordinate well-defined written systems, policies, procedures, and seek automations opportunities as much as possible.
Compliance:
- Comply to related policy and procedures and work instructions.
Health, Safety, and Environment:
- Ensure compliance of relevant safety, quality, and environmental management procedures and controls within defined area of work activity to guarantee safety, legislative compliance, and delivery of high-quality products/services.
Academic Qualification
- Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
Work Experience
- 5 to 10 Years
