Senior Purchasing Officer (Hospital)

Job description / Role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Purchasing Officer to lead our procurement efforts in our network of hospitals across Saudi Arabia. In this critical role, you will be responsible for managing the purchasing processes of medical supplies and hygiene products, ensuring that our hospitals are well-stocked to provide optimal patient care. You will collaborate with various departments and suppliers, helping to drive cost-effective purchasing strategies while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement effective purchasing strategies to optimize procurement processes within hospitals.
- Manage supplier relationships and negotiate contracts to secure the best possible pricing and terms for medical and hygiene supplies.
- Conduct market research to identify trends and establish competitive pricing for products and services.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and maintain accurate records of purchasing transactions.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ascertain their needs and ensure timely delivery of supplies.
- Monitor inventory levels and forecast supply needs to prevent shortages or overstock situations.
- Prepare and present reports on purchasing activities, expenditures, and cost savings initiatives to senior management.

- Proven experience as a Purchasing Officer or similar role in a healthcare/hospital environment.
- Strong understanding of supply chain management and procurement processes specific to medical and hygiene products.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented and analytical with strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred.
