Senior Traffic Engineer

Job description / Role

We are currently looking for a Senior Traffic Engineer to join our team for a major infrastructure and stormwater project in Jeddah. The ideal candidate will have over 15 years of experience in traffic engineering, with a strong background in traffic impact assessments, modeling, and planning within large-scale infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

- Lead the development and review of traffic impact studies, transport assessments, and traffic management plans.
- Support the design and planning of road networks and stormwater infrastructure with traffic engineering inputs.
- Use traffic modeling tools (e.g., SYNCHRO, VISSIM, SIDRA) to analyze and optimize traffic flow and intersection performance.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including roadway, drainage, and urban planning engineers.
- Ensure compliance with local and international traffic engineering standards and guidelines.
- Review contractor submissions, design drawings, and specifications related to traffic and transport.
- Participate in client meetings, technical discussions, and site inspections as required.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and technicians.

- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Transportation Engineering (Master's preferred).
- Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in traffic engineering within large infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of Saudi traffic regulations, urban mobility principles, and traffic safety standards.
- Proficient in traffic simulation and modeling software (e.g., SYNCHRO, VISSIM, SIDRA, HCS).
- Previous experience in stormwater-related infrastructure projects is a plus.
- Strong analytical, reporting, and communication skills.
- Experience working with international engineering consultancies is preferred.
- Valid membership in a recognized engineering council; SCE registration preferred.
