Senior Traffic Modeller - Transportation Planning & Traffic Engineering

Job Summary

The Senior Traffic Modeler is a core member of the Transport Planning & Traffic Engineering team in the design center. They lead the development of transportation / traffic models, network simulations, origin-destination matrices and the calculation of traffic volumes as part of a project team developing overarching transportation plans, such as transportation master plans, traffic impact studies, road safety assessments, etc. They work closely with Project Managers and senior project team members for the review, validation and handover of transportation models to client counterparts and authorities. The jobholder shall stay abreast of the latest trends, technologies and developments in transportation and traffic modeling.

Requirements

Job Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
- Master degree in transportation planning is preferred
- 10+ years of industry experience in transportation planning and traffic engineering, particularly in traffic modeling
- 5+ years of experience in the transportation planning and traffic engineering field in a top tier regional / multinational engineering consultancy.
- Familiarity with traffic impact studies and traffic engineering plans
- Demonstrated experience with the development of a variety of transportation and traffic models
- Experience in the Middle East Region is preferred
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
- Master's Degree in Transportation Planning is preferred
- In depth knowledge in traffic engineering and transport planning
- Knowledge of transport / land use planning, traffic modeling, ITS and other information systems
- Strong knowledge of traffic modeling software, such as Cube, VISUM, VISSIM, Synchro, MXROAD, SIDRA, HCS, AutoTURN, etc
- Strong operational modeling skills
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills
- Proficiency in spoken & Written English, Arabic is an advantage
