Job Summary
To identify training and development needs of operating staff within assigned Shift, and in collaboration with other Shift Trainers, develop and implement comprehensive training and coaching programs to improve and sustain operator capability levels. This role will also involve assessment and reporting of actual competencies, and development of strategies to close key gaps and overcome short-term deficiencies.

Major Duties I Responsibilities
Collaborate on the design of practical "hands-on" technical plant operations training, covering both outside areas and plant monitoring and control via the DCS system. Deliver this training, and continually assess effectiveness, refresh and improve. Contribute to Turnaround, S/U and S/D preparation and execution. Issue a monthly training report for every operator in the shift - report qualification levels, current / future training plans, and any current or potential future issues and challenges. Assume a leading role in enforcing and maintaining safety standards in all aspects of plant safety, from housekeeping to compliance with standards and procedures. Ensure all Best Practice procedures are understood and executed as required. Provide Best Training coaching and refresher training as required. Act as the in-shift CAMEL Champion (Continuous Awareness Must Eliminate Losses), providing coaching and guidance, ensuring compliance with CAMEL observation targets, with a strong focus upon the quality of the observations and follow-up Ensure full participation in the Innovation Program. In particular, ensure compliance with the "Focus and Continuous Improvement" Procedure (SIPC-MPI-BP-037), and utilization of the "Eureka" platform to register and collaborate upon ideas. Support the implementation of all new initiatives in collaboration with the High Performance Culture and Continuous Improvement Teams. Lead specified certain plant-operating activities. These include but not limited   to   monitoring   overall   plant operations and   directing   less experienced operators. Review permit-to-work audits and provide feedback and coaching as required to maintain required HSE standards. Highlight major areas of concern and provide permanent solutions to avoid recurrence. Provide support to the shift supervisor on plant operation and execution of all necessary maintenance obs, ensuring effective preparation of equipment and that all relevant safety procedures are being followed. Administrate all in-shift training requirements and be an instructor in the CBT system ("Questionmark"). Coach operators in the requirements to progress through qualification levels, and work to continually improve the standard and relevance of CBT and assessments. Execute a daily plant tour, also covering DCS operation. Record observations and any required actions in the J-5 e-log system.Network closely with the other Shift Trainers and develop and maintain plant-specific performance improvement plans.

Qualifications & Experience
Academic - minimum completion of Secondary Science  (12 years) education or equivalent. Related Work Experience (type and years) — a minimum of 15 years of experience in all aspects of petrochemical plant operation Additional / Specialized Training — Leadership training, Train the trainer, Technical training. Language skills — must have good oral and written communication skills in the English language. Minimum Level 6
