The IS product line handles LSTK projects and CTD projects of Baker Hughes, while delivering wells to the client in a timely and efficient manner. We need to make sure the backend of our team is well and strong in terms of identifying and sourcing the right services and products at the right time to ensure flawless operations that satisfy client’s requirements.
Partner with the best
As a procurement specialist, you will be responsible for identifying client’s requirements at its best with the help and support of the IS operations team and sourcing competitive but quality services and products in a timely manner. In this role, you will follow an individual work plan, manage global stakeholders and suppliers, meet day-to-day short-term objectives, resolve issues through immediate action and long-term planning, and initiate contractual agreements with potential sub-contractors and suppliers.
As a buying/procurement specialist, you will be responsible for:
- Floating RFQ/inquiry to potential local and global suppliers based on operations requirements.
- Performing negotiations with suppliers on techno-commercial aspects and aligning terms of purchase favorably.
- Initiating short-term and long-term contracts with suppliers and service providers through the help of legal and sourcing leadership teams.
- Getting purchase orders issued according to operations requirements and closing them after delivery.
- Evaluating and monitoring supplier performance through monthly/weekly scorecards. Also having the ability to communicate effectively (daily/weekly) with Baker Hughes global supplier base in different time zones.
- Connecting with site material, engineering, and project teams on shortages while identifying and implementing process improvements.
- Managing push-out and pull-in of orders, organizing parts pickup while reducing overall logistics costs with timely deliveries.
- Being responsible for all aspects related to parts supplier management and execution, monitoring parts availability.
- Developing risk mitigation strategies including contingency plans, lead-time reductions, and supply chain efficiency. Also possessing knowledge of Incoterms, EU and US regulatory and import requirements.
- Communicating with internal product line and identifying and prioritizing services/products that can be delivered to mitigate and optimize cost exposure.
- Monitoring purchase order reports for closure of each purchase (delivery, goods receipt, invoicing) in a timely manner within procurement KPIs.
Fuel your passion
To be successful in this role you will:
- Have a bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (with 1-2 years of experience in sourcing), preferably with experience from an oil field background.
- Have ERP experience with SAP and Ariba; data analysis and presentation skills will be advantageous.
- Have hands-on ability to handle multiple priorities in an international environment.
