Job description / Role

• Specialized in the treatment or research of disorders that affect the endocrine system.
• Treats multiple glands throughout the body can cause problems with reproduction, growth, bone health or metabolism.
• Help diagnose and treat endocrine-related disorders, such as diabetes and osteoporosis.
• Treat and diagnose the function of glands that produce and release hormones into the bloodstream that coordinate bodily processes.
• Help patients cope with the physical limitations from diseases like diabetes and hypothyroidism.
• Duties may range from ordering tests to prescribing medications.

Requirements

• Must have clinical residency, followed by a fellowship in a specialized area of Endocrinology.
• Specialized in the treat the endocrine system.
• Must be able to help patients cope with the physical limitations.
• People skills, dexterity, organizational skills, ability to interpret/understand lab tests.
