Role: Specialist - Heavy Vehicle

Coastal Contracting Company is seeking Specialist - Heavy Vehicle who will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of heavy vehicles and machinery used in construction projects. This role involves managing the workshop facility, coordinating maintenance schedules, and ensuring that all equipment is in optimal operating condition to support construction activities.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the daily operations of the heavy vehicle workshop, including scheduling repairs, allocating resources, and overseeing maintenance activities.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and workshop procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
• Coordinate and perform routine maintenance tasks on heavy vehicles and construction equipment, including inspections, lubrication, and component replacements.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues and perform repairs to restore equipment functionality.
• Oversee major overhauls and rebuilds of engines, transmissions, and other critical components as needed.
• Maintain inventory levels of spare parts, consumables, and supplies necessary for equipment maintenance and repair.
• Source replacement parts from suppliers and vendors, ensuring timely delivery and cost-effective purchasing.
• Implement quality control procedures to ensure that all maintenance and repair work meets industry standards and equipment specifications.
• Conduct post-repair inspections and tests to verify equipment performance and functionality.
• Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, parts used, and equipment history.
• Generate reports on equipment maintenance and repair activities, including downtime, costs, and performance metrics.
• Provide training and guidance to workshop staff on proper maintenance procedures, safety protocols, and equipment operation.
• Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices related to heavy vehicle maintenance and construction equipment.

Requirements:

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience working with heavy vehicles and construction equipment, including diagnostic, maintenance, and repair tasks.
• Strong technical skills and knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Experience managing a workshop facility, including staff supervision, resource allocation, and budget management.
• Familiarity with workshop tools, equipment, and diagnostic instruments used in heavy vehicle maintenance.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities, with the capacity to motivate and mentor workshop staff.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures applicable to workshop operations and heavy equipment maintenance.
