Specialist - Tank Gauging Systems

Job description / Role

Contingent on client award, we have a new vacancy for a Specialist in Tank Gauging Systems (TGS) to provide startup, commissioning and training support for Emerson Automation Solutions' Rosemount products, on site in Jubail. This is a great opportunity to work on one of the largest global chemical refinery projects on a 3-5 year contract. The role will cover two phases in the project lifecycle - start up & commissioning and operation & maintenance.

During the Start up & Commissioning phase you will be responsible for:
* Supporting our customer for application changes and modifications in the Rosemount TGS including network connectivity.
* Provide support in determining critical Instrument measurement for Custody Transfer Application
* Support the development of a maintenance plan for each instrument of the TGS
* Support in Creating and maintaining database of all documents related to the TGS
* Complete investigation on Instrument/Devices failures and develop a prevention plan.
* Provide OEM expertise for proper procedures for installation and through start-up for Instrumentation
* Provide technical direction for proper instrument protection during Shut down and Start-up
* Provide day to day support for on-site configuration & communication
* Review Instrument installation, Tank Gauging devices etc.
* Support Loop Check process and be the 'subject matter expert' for TGS on-site
* Complete application and engineering review for the TGS during start-up as well throughout the project LifeCycle

Then as the project transitions into an Operational/Maintenance phase, you will be responsible for:
* Supporting our client's maintenance technicians with troubleshooting and repairs as needed during Emergency / Breakdown situations to minimize equipment downtime.
* Finalize TGS maintenance plans, including timeline for predictive diagnostics and turnaround repair
* Support Maintenance with visual checks of all critical instruments/devices on a Quarterly basis.
* Document all modification work, new parts / material such as instruments, spares and software / firmware upgrades.
* Update all OEM factory records
* Create and maintain spare parts data for all instrument assets
* Maintain all technical documents such as instruction manuals and drawings
* Support Sadara to maximize reliability of Instrument assets
* Increase reliability of instrumentation through training on maintenance planning and OEM Instrument repair
* Support maintenance development plan for an OEM PM schedule for all critical Instruments
* Support maintenance to determine Instrument scope and priority of repair for planned outages
* Use an established approved management process for turnaround and outage management
* Support in documenting repairs and parts used for repair in database
* Complete investigation on all instrumentation/devices failures and develop a prevention plan
* Provide on-site training for client personnel
* Provide classroom training in the Emerson's Jubail facility or in client premises as needed
* Support the client team for Custody Metering Audits for Tank Gauging System. If required then Co-ordinate with Third Party Inspection services.

Requirements

You will be experienced in the following Emerson Automation Solutions (Rosemount) technologies with at least 12-15 years career experience:

* Tank Gauging Technology
* Pressure Transmitter
* Guided Wave Radar
* Temperature Transmitter

Additionally you will have a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics, Electrical or Instrumentation.

This role is a full time 3-5 year contract based in Jubail, Saudi Arabia. You will be willing to commit to the duration of the contract.
