Job description / Role
The Sustainability Director is responsible for the successful implementation and achievement of sustainability certifications targeted for all assets and master plans across design and construction stages. Guides the sustainability accreditation to teams (design, development, and delivery) and coordinates consultants, contractors, and project teams for enhancing the environmental sustainability of the entire Marina Development.

Description
- Manage implementation and compliance with external accreditation schemes, such as LEED Cities & Communities, LEED (asset level), Mostadam, and other accreditation schemes the projects opt to pursue.
- Monitor compliance & reporting on the implementation of sustainability accreditation requirements by contractors, consultants, business partners, & supply chains as needed.
- Review and monitor compliance with master plan sustainability requirements on assets, public realm, infrastructure, and master plan development.
- Support development and implementation of site-wide waste, energy, water, material, and climate change management strategies.
- Review and assure asset design compliance with waste, energy, water, material, and climate change management strategies.
- Manage the development and implementation of sustainability accreditation strategies, systems, policies, and procedures, including the provision of training, awareness, and capacity building.
- Coordinate with other teams to promote synergy and to ensure that the sustainability team is integrated with Corporate and other Division's policies, manuals, and procedures.
- Direct the performance of the Sustainability Accreditations team toward meeting or exceeding sustainability and Project KPIs (Key Performance Indicators).

Requirements:
- Education: Minimum Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, sustainability, and environment.
- Experience: Minimum 10 years experience in sustainability and/or sustainability accreditation.
- Professional Certifications Preferred: LEED BD+C AP, Mostadam AP, Estidama AP, GSAS AP
- Problem-solving abilities and adaptability to evolving project requirements.
- Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and managing project schedules.
- Familiarity with sustainable design practices, green infrastructure, and placemaking concepts.
- Preferred experience in the delivery of large-scale sustainability projects, especially in client or client-representative roles.
- Middle East sustainability accreditation experience is highly preferred.
