Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Main Objectives and Function:
- To deliver end to end radio communications solutions, cost-effective and low-risk designs compliant with customers’ requirements, through-life design, capable of onward implementation and support by the company.
- To be responsible for writing and reviewing ATP documentation, witnessing radio communications equipment testing and systems integration.
- Hands-on experience in planning, testing and implementation of radio networks.
- To have a good understanding of the activities associated with incremental integration and test of large systems using best practices.
- Experience and knowledge of Radio Networks (Microwave, Secure Mobile Radio), physical interfaces (RJ-35, SMA), Encryption devices and test equipment.
- Responsible for the Acceptance and technical transfer of systems integration systems including radio / wireless voice, data networks, telephony, microwave and TDM.
- To work closely with other business functions as part of project delivery (Customer, New Business, Project Delivery and Managed Services).

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Write RF test and acceptance documentation, witness equipment and system testing, oversee equipment configuration changes.
- Define and review sub-contractor proposals for design, installation, commissioning and acceptance testing.
- Competent to analyse a technical problem from root cause through to resolution without any prior knowledge of the subject matter.
- Ensure all design documentation is professional and of high standards and complete for technical transfer to the customer.
- Supervise sub-contractor works as appropriate.
- Excellent at producing technical reports, presentations and action plans. Confident to present to customers, peers and team members.
- Can operate autonomously with minimal supervision based on a brief of authorities.

Contact with Others (Internal/ External/ Meetings):
- The post-holder will be expected to manage, on a daily basis, effective engineering relationships with a wide stakeholder group including:
- GPT Delivery Partner members
- Coordination with peer level within Engineering
- OM&T
- UK MOD as required (SANGCOM – Customer 1)
- MofNG as required (Customer 2)

Judgement/ Decision Making Authority (Specific Responsibilities):
- Commensurate with the above duties and responsibilities as delegated. Technical Lead on all related integration activities.

Requirements

- Bachelors Degree or equivalent in an Engineering/Computer Science discipline plus desirable industry certifications such as CCNP or equivalent.
- Minimum of five years full system development lifecycle experience in system implementation, Integration and troubleshooting.
- Experienced in the design, delivery and management of complex telecommunications systems covering radio / wireless voice and data networks.
- Hands-on experience with a variety of communications equipment, including: Bridging, Switching, Routing, Ethernet and TDM/SONET/SDH Transport Architectures.
- Excellent at producing technical reports, presentations and action plans. Confident to present to customers, peers and team members.
- Good standard of written and spoken English.
- Ability to manage multiple projects/activities, under tight deadlines, often with competing priorities and complexities and with minimal supervision.
- Must have a flexible approach and be able to travel throughout KSA.

Desirable:
- Business experience in the radio communications
- Knowledge of System Engineering Lifecycle
- Experience in installation and testing of radio equipment delivery projects
- Experience of living or working in the Middle East
- Experience in commissioning/configuration of data/IP communications equipment.
