Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Our exclusive and esteemed client who has steadily grown to be the biggest bank and leading financial institution in the Middle East and North Africa Region with a market share around 45% of banking sector assets is looking to hire a manager trade finance operations.

Job Purpose Summary:

The incumbent is primarily responsible for Designing, implementing, administrating and proactively managing the Countries SAN Storage Environment to provide reliable and highly available services to all users. He will also aim to continuously improve the Storage strategies to develop working order and delivery.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities by Dimensions:

Shareholder & Financial:
- Ensure the performance of necessary virtual Environment administration to support all business units operations and further the Countries strategy.

Customer (Internal & External):
- Maintain relations with vendors through their support centre for problem resolution and work scheduling.
- Build and maintain strong and effective relationship with all other related departments and units to achieve the Countries goals/ objectives.
- Provide timely and accurate information to the external and internal auditors and the Compliance function as and when required.

Internal (Processes, Products, Regulatory):
- Prepare and design the enterprise Storage infrastructure and document standards for IT Server infrastructure.
- Maintain and tune existing storage Environment, under the direction of the Head cloud computing.
- Analyze and create storage partitions for hosting the banks Country systems in UAT and Production environment
- Simulate contingency plans and perform testing and upgrades of the Storage system versions.
- Plan & test Disaster recovery for all systems hosted on the Virtual environment.
- Maintain and update the storage environment inventory for all systems hosted.
- Prepare and maintain change management procedures for the storage
- Ensure protection and security of the environment systems from any unauthorized access within the overall security policy of the Country.
- Manage storage infrastructure in Production, DR and Test/Development environments.
- Fine tune storage configurations to get the best performance/resource consumption
- Detection of issues, monitoring and ownership of standards and requirements
- Participate in capacity planning for the infrastructure.
- Provide tools and procedures for resources provisioning.
- Document the process and procedures.
- Carry out a high degree of planning and monitoring to ensure best level of service and maintenance of security and contingency controls.
- Assist in simulation of contingency plans.
- Report to the Head cloud computing for approvals of work and prioritization of projects on hand and for any other storage environment tasks that would impact capital or operating expenditures.

Learning & Knowledge:

- Train the storage Administrator on standards and administration.
- Participate in meetings which add value by discussing progress, problems, and any other issues of concern.
- Posses a high technical knowledge in operating systems and VMware management tools and systems to resolve any VM environment disruption or inconvenience to the users that may critically impact the Country.
- Identify areas for professional development of self and act to enhance professional development.

Other:
- Ensure high standards of confidentiality to safeguard commercially sensitive information.

Requirements

Education/Experience Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.
- 5 years industry experience enterprise storage systems like HP, EMC, IBM etc
- Experience in implementing VM environments.
- Solid scripting and automation to proactively monitoring the environment
- Experience with capacity planning and monitoring the storage environment
- Diagnostic of and troubleshooting storage issues.
- Knowledge of Networking integration into VMware ESXi and common problems
- Good knowledge operating systems Windows / Linux / AIX systems
- Training courses and certification in any of the above mentioned operating systems and/or VM environments
- Training courses and certification in Storage, and other supported systems.

Required Special Skills:

- Excellent oral and written communication skills in both English and Arabic (preferable).
- Strong analytical, problem solving, decision-making and financial management skills.
- Self-driven with well-developed leadership, motivational and team-building skills.
- Understanding of linkages driving profit.
- Good interpersonal skills.

Operating Environment/ Location:

- The referenced position will be based in Country and will involve liaison with the support functions at HO.
- Located in the banks Country headquarters with periodic visits to branches and subsidiaries, if and when required.

- Applicable policies and procedures.
- Relevant regulatory pronouncements of the applicable local and international regulators and related best practices.
- Delegated authorities as per the delegation of authorities structure.
- Instructions of the Head cloud computing.
- 24 hours based support and oncall.

Communications and Working Relationships:

- Divisional and departmental officers of Information Technology and all other related divisional/ departmental officers.
