Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

A leading retail conglomerate is currently on the look-out for a strong candidate who can support the daily activities of configuration and operation of systems.

The candidate's primary responsibilities will be as follows:
- The Systems Administrator implement, installs, configure monitors, troubleshoots, and evaluates existing and new server operating systems.
- The Systems Administrator will diagnose hardware, network and software problems, and replace defective components to maintain proper functioning
- The Systems Administrator maintains system performance by performing system monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshooting system hardware, software, and operating and system management systems; escalating application problems to vendor
- The Systems Administrator is responsible for tests and implements effective backup and restore techniques.
- The Systems Administrator will be installing and maintaining software updates periodically
- Stay current on any related technologies and performs other duties as assigned.
- The Systems Administrator will support internal staff on their regular IT activities like Email, I/P phone, Laptop and printers.

Requirements

- Minimum Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent experience. (Masters degree is a plus)
- Must have 2 to 4 years, experience with Windows System Administration, to include user account administration, installation and configuration of workstations and peripherals, kernel parameter and disk partition modification, client-server support, software and hardware upgrades, troubleshooting, and shell script programming.
- Experience to perform periodic system back-ups and developing/documenting standard operating procedures for these activities.
- Experience working with computer hardware, software, and local area networks
- Experience working with Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2012, ESXi, NAS, SAN.
