Technical Manager (Building or Industrial Plant)

Job description / Role

Objectives:
Seeking an experienced, detail-oriented technical manager of the building or industrial plants projects to join our company. The candidate should play a key role in the overall success of our organization by planning, managing, and monitoring of the engineering functions and will be responsible for overseeing various technical activities for construction processes, adherence to timeliness and making necessary adjustments in order to ensure successful bidding and completion of our construction project

Main responsibilities:
1. Serve as the technical expert for shop-drawings and construction aspects of the project;
2. Answer technical questions and resolve technical issues brought forth by the internal team members, client, consulting engineers and sub-contractors;
3. Prepare detailed construction methodology, processes and procedures for support of bidding team/construction team;
4. Propose and oversee timelines for engineering proposals/method statement and submissions are met;
5. Check and confirm the accuracy of submissions from contractors, vendors and suppliers for the work to be performed, coordinate and ensure approvals are received from client in timely manner;
6. Set up procedure and processes in monitoring and tracking of engineering related documentation throughout project lifestyle;
7. Communicate and collaborate with other managers, suppliers, and sub-contractors;
8. Prepare and deliver various construction technical related presentations, both internally and externally;
9. Establishment and management of project technology and process innovation system.

Reporting to: Department Manager
Other interactions: Department internal employees, company departments,and projects, and other commercial organizations.

Duration: Permanent position 1-3 years
Probation: 3-6 months
Working Hours: Saturday-Thursday 10h per day
Travel requirements: Occasional travel between Sri Lanka and Saudi Arabia

Requirements

University Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in building engineering or related field
Other certifications obtained: International certified qualifications, i.e. Charted Engineer
Nature and length of previous experience: More than 15 years work experience in construction industry, at least 5 years Technical Manager or similar position experience in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia or the middle east regions

Specialist knowledge:
- General Requirement (Operating System, Microsoft Office)
- Ability to use professional software
