Overview

We are looking for a technical writer who can work collaboratively with management and other stakeholders to help produce high-quality documents for a wide variety of audiences. The range of documents we produce includes, but is not limited to, management reports and presentation, marketing materials, data-driven infographics, and technical training materials. The technical writer is expected to be skilled at substantive/developmental editing and able to contribute to the improvement of the overall structure, flow, and clarity of a document. The technical writer is also expected to be skilled at copy editing and able to contribute to the sentence structure, spelling, and grammar within a document. Since most of our documents are created by technical professionals, the technical writer needs to be able to help the technical professionals explain complex concepts in simple language, while maintaining the original meaning and intent of content.

Key Responsibilities

Work with management and other stakeholders to obtain an in-depth understanding of the product and project requirements

Produce high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience

Edit training materials written by instructional designers and/or subject-matter experts (SMEs)

Manage multiple, concurrent projects

Ensure that corporate and departmental verbal and visual styles are followed

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

5+ years of hands-on technical writing experience

Excellent writing and technical writing skills

Excellent verbal communication skills

Comprehend and explain complex technical concepts

Experience editing instructional materials

Detail-oriented

Expert with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint

Team player / Flexible / Open-minded

Experience within the Oil & Gas industry preferred
