Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

JOB PURPOSE:
• Installation, operation, maintenance and repair of systems and equipment, as indicated in Job scope, under guidance following standard procedures.

OPERATIONS
• Carry out predefined preventive maintenance routines to maintain system equipments in optimum operating condition.
• Make site visits for general inspections and checking when advised and report back.
• Perform, under supervision, specific tests and checks when assigned and produce required reports.
• Assist to maintain system manuals to document changes and keep updated designs.
• Do inventory as per MOP in routine and on required basis for system equipment and spares to collect and maintain Asset data.
• Monitor and maintain calibration records of test equipment and initiate appropriate flag for recalibrations.
• Work very closely with MSO/ Operation Control team to integrate equipment into system and to respond to operation needs.

MAINTENANCE
• Provide timely response to system failures for resolution.
• Carry out FRU replacement as per MOP to clear faults.
• Conduct trouble shooting under supervision or on own to isolate problem root cause and resolve accordingly.
• Follow standard procedures for escalation of unresolved faults.
• Monitor and trouble shoot system environmental alarms and facility equipment for HVAC and power to clear faults and maintain optimum working environment.
• Interface with suppliers / vendors for rectification of any break-down or malfunction of systems or equipment supplied by them.
• Carry out inspections for maintenance contract works, and inform management of any poor service or deviation of contracts.
• When assigned in workshop environment, carry out component/module level repairs to restore functionality of equipment and systems according to engineering instructions, technical manuals, using knowledge of electronics, hand and power tools.

PLANNING
• Understand requirements and Carry out Site surveys as per MOPS or instructions to collect data for required design objectives.
• Assist with design and planning of systems and layouts by providing field inputs and suggestions for best results.

INSTALLATION
• Install, assemble, program and test systems/equipment/cables under supervision, as per instructions/design/manual and as agreed quality to achieve required functionality.
• Conduct acceptance testing as per given procedures with customer/contractors for completed jobs to ensure compliance with contract terms and integrate into O&M programs.

ADMINISTRATIVE
• Produce routine reports and fault logs to enable proper monitoring of system.
• Perform thorough checks on the serviceability of emergency vehicles, fire fighting tools and equipment
• Keep tools ready to use in trouble shooting and installation. Purchase if necessary to meet dead line
• Coach and train more junior staff

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS
• Diploma in Telecom, Communications, Electronics, Electrical, Computers

EXPERIENCE
• Experience is preferred but not a must for diploma qualification Or
• 2 to 4 years with vocational institute certificate.

SKILLS
• Knowledge of basic RF communication systems, antenna, DC system and electronics.
• Have basic IT skills, including using common software, and basic network cabling.
• Be able to understand blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, circuit diagrams and engineering instructions for assembling systems.
• Be able to solve problems logically.
• Be able to produce reports and statistics.
• Be good with their hands, ability to do laborious work during installation.
• Be physically fit and not afraid of heights (for some jobs)
• Be aware of health and safety risks.
