TRM Stream Lead

Job description / Role

The candidate should have a good grasp of system/solution design within a banking or financial services environment and the skills to propose several alternatives in solving a problem.
• Analyze and evaluate several potential alternatives to a given challenge and present the results to the appropriate stakeholders to enable a decision on the optimal solution.
• Review and analyse business operations and processes and recommend improvements or transformations required within their operational processes
• Understand business needs and pain points; recommend improvements
• Comprehend business requirements and translate the requirements to a functional system design document.
• Document issues raised by business owners
• Produce specifications for new or modified systems
• Facilitation of workshops where applicable to understand business workflows and requirements and/or present and validate potential solutions.
• Coordinate meetings to support the project, including taking and documenting minutes of meetings and distribution to relevant parties.
• Will be expected to guide and recommend process and system functional solutions.
• Assist in the development and production of procedural / workflow documents for the project team.
• Prepare project reports as required by the team.
• Track and communicate project status with all project owners and reporting on status as required
• May lead the work of others on teams or projects
• Serve as the liaison between technology and business end users

Requirements

• 3rd level qualification in a relevant discipline
• 4 or more years of experience including demonstrated lead role
• Specialist experience in a retail IT banking environment is an advantage
• The ideal candidate has Systems Analysis experience developing requirements in a Banking environment i.e. banking deposit management
• Previous experience of implementation projects for new Banking applications/systems
• Strong working knowledge, experience of and familiarity with Banking IT systems and best practices i.e. Deposits, Payment systems, Straight Through Processing (STP) etc;
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft office products such as (project, power point, excel, visio etc).
• Strong analytical skills and proven ability to deliver accurate, relevant and timely information.
• Good team working and interpersonal skills required to enable working closely with staff at all levels throughout an organisation, including managers and IT specialists.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the competency to work both on an individual basis and as part of a team.
• Excellent organizational skills and a proven ability to manage multiple priorities and ensure that deadlines are consistently met.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and deliver results working to tight deadlines and show good commercial judgment.
• Some project Management experience would be of benefit.
• Self-motivated, innovative and analytical.
• A proactive approach to problem solving, taking ownership of issues and having determination to follow things through.
• Ability to engage successfully in multiple initiatives simultaneously
• End to end experience of project lifecycle
• Good report writing skills and the ability to communicate technical information and ideas clearly and concisely to non-technical people.
