Vertfical Shaft Construction Manager

Job description / Role

My client is a leading international construction company with an excellent reputation and a track record of working on some of the worlds largest construction projects. They are currently working on a tunnel construction project in Saudi Arabia and are looking to recruit a vertical shaft construction manager for the following;

• Organizing materials and ensuring sites are safe and clean.
• Preparing cost estimates and ensuring appropriate materials and tools are available.
• Providing technical advice and suggestions for improvement on constructability of the project.
• Diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment as required.
• Authorizing technical drawings and engineering plans.
• Preparation of Method of Statements and revision of shop drawings.
• Drawing up work schedules and communicating any adjustments to crew members and clients.
• Gathering data, compiling reports and delivering presentations to relevant stakeholders.
• Delegating tasks and scheduling meetings and training sessions where required.
• Completing quality assurance and providing feedback to the team.
• Ensuring the implementation of the safety standards at the site.

Requirements

Candidates should have a civil engineer degree or a similar subject an should have a proven track record of working on vertical shaft construction projects in the mining or tunneling industry. Candidates should have experience of the different state of the art in shafts execution: Raise Boring, Shaft sinking, V Mole, Shaft Boring Roadheader (SBR)…
