Warehouse Supervisor

Job description / Role

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily warehouse activities, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping of goods.
• Lead, train, and motivate warehouse team members to achieve performance standards and productivity targets.
• Monitor inventory levels and maintain accurate stock records using warehouse management systems (WMS).
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and quality standards.
• Develop and implement efficient warehouse processes to improve workflow and reduce errors.
• Schedule and assign work to staff while maintaining optimal labor utilization.
• Inspect equipment, tools, and work areas to ensure proper operation and safety.
• Communicate effectively with logistics, procurement, and production teams to coordinate supply chain activities.
• Prepare reports on warehouse performance metrics (e.g., order accuracy, on-time shipping, inventory discrepancies).
• Assist in planning and executing warehouse layout, space utilization, and resource management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in warehouse or logistics operations, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Proficient in warehouse management software and Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge of inventory control, shipping procedures, and safety standards.
• Ability to lift and move heavy materials and work in a fast-paced environment.
