Job Description

Job Purpose

- The main purpose of the Warehouse Unit Head's job is to ensure the cost effective and timely receipt, storage, retrieval, and dispatch of goods from the warehouse

Principal Accountabilities

- Supports in the development of the warehouse yearly plan and budget
- Monitors all aspects of the warehouse day-to-day operations to maximize the efficiency, reliability, security, timeliness, and cost effectiveness of the warehousing activities
- Ensures the efficient and economical utilization of the warehousing facilities and equipment
- Identifies, evaluates, and capitalizes on opportunities to reduce costs and enhance security and performance by optimizing warehouse's layout, space utilization, goods storage, staffing, equipment, systems, processes, etc.
- Administers overall inventory management, optimization, productivity, accuracy, and loss prevention programs, and ensures that policies and procedures for inventory and inventory movement control are complied with
- Enforces warehouse safety, security, housekeeping, and sanitation programs
- Directly manages all warehouse staff to meet warehouse targets (cost, fill rates, data accuracy and timeliness, safety, etc.) and to ensure appropriate support to internal customers
- Maintains accurate, up-to-date stock records and ensures a timely response to enquiries (for example on inventory levels) is provided to internal users
- Provides support for the professional development of warehouse staff
- Performs miscellaneous tasks as assigned by the Supply Chain Manager
- Promotes and disseminates a positive health and safety culture and ensures the health, safety and welfare of self and others
- Ensures employee health and safety programs and guidelines are developed, regularly maintained, implemented and complied with
- Identifies any Health, Safety or Environmental risks and recommends and implements measures and solutions to mitigate these risks
- Performs miscellaneous tasks as assigned by the Supply Chain Manager
- Is responsible for the development, performance appraisal and succession planning of all direct and indirect reports
- Identifies and tracks KPIs for his function, and devises plans and initiatives for operational improvements

Qualifications

Communications and Working Relationships

- Reports to the Supply Chain Manager on all warehousing activities
- Interacts with onsite warehouse staff to ensure that warehousing processes are handled effectively
- Interacts with the internal users of the warehouse services for strategic and operational issues, including the identification and management of obsolete inventory
- Coordinates with Purchasing and Logistics to ensure a timely and accurate flow of information related to shipment arrival schedules
- Works closely with the Insurance Representatives at RVOS to ensure proper insurance coverage for warehouses - Interacts and manages direct reports and operational issues on a daily basis

Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Qualifications

- Bachelor in Business Administration or equivalent degree; MBA degree is a plus
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in warehouse management, in a comparable operation to RVOS
- Professional certification in relevant areas is preferred
- Excellent interpersonal, communications, organization, negotiation and presentation skills
- Computer literacy, including knowledge of MS office applications and basic software applications. ERP knowledge is a plus
- Previous experience in the GCC is a plus, especially if the experience was in Saudi Arabia - English fluency is a must; Arabic language is a plus
