Overview

We are seeking an experienced Welding Specialist Engineer to join our Global Manufacturing Excellence Team within our Global Manufacturing Support Department (GMSD).

GMSD is a multi-disciplinary organization with interface to technical, and in some cases business, support requirements of Domestic Refining & NGL Fractionation Admin Area and Saudi Aramco Affiliates. Its function caters mainly to the technical needs of Global Manufacturing, operating facilities management, and driving the performances of operating facilities in executing corporate programs and initiatives towards operational excellence and value creation.

Your primary role will be to provide technical welding expertise and solutions to materials and welding issues in the refining, NGLF, and petrochemical plants.

Key Responsibilities

• As the successful candidate you will be required to perform the following:
• Provide welding technical support during regular operation and turnarounds through troubleshooting of welding related problems.
• Review welding procedures to ensure the correct welding parameters and testing are specified (ex. Voltage, amperage, heat input, metallographic examinations, and other testing as applicable).
• Analyze the engineering design packages for welding requirements.
• Utilize welding experience in order to improve the welding repair procedures proposed by facilities.
• Manage and specify requirements for welder procedure qualifications.
• Qualify new welding procedures to help with repairs if required.
• Implement best-in-class solutions pertaining to welding activities, as foreseen by international standards and other internal company standards.
• Propose ideas, or technological improvement, or maintenance strategies implementation, in order to support the company vision of continuous improvement throughout collaboration and people conversation.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

• You must hold a Bachelor degree in Welding, Metallurgical or Mechanical Engineering. Certified Welding Engineer (CWEng) is preferred.
• You should have a minimum of 15 years experience in the materials and welding engineering discipline.
• Thorough knowledge of welding and metallurgical requirements for different materials including carbon and low alloy steels, stainless steels, duplex, nickel alloys, aluminum, etc is essential.
• Extensive experience in welding codes and standards, including ASME VIII, ASME IX, ASME B31.3, ASME B31.4, ASME B31.8API 1104, API 577, API 582, etc is a requirement.
• Excellent knowledge of basic and advanced NDE techniques.
