Finance Manager (Wolof-Speaking) - Senegal

Linum Consult's client is an international mining company well established in Africa.
They are looking for a Finance Manager to oversee their Finance and Administration team in Senegal

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Leading and managing the accounting and payroll resources on a day to day basis
• Achieving agreed commercial and legal obligations
• Maintaining best practice accounting standards
• Providing administrative support through the accurate recording of all financial transactions, i.e. revenue, expenditure, operating cash flows and financial commitments, the review, implementation and reinforcement of sound administrative procedures and internal controls to protect company assets
• Overseeing the accounting functions and reviewing on a timely basis all the reconciliation reports
• Supply the Head of Department monthly detailed transactions (Preliminary/final) for their review for reallocations and accrual purposes
• Ensuring Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll and Fixed asset processing procedures are understood and followed
• Liaising with various departments to ensure accuracy of data transferred in the general ledger

Requirements

• University Diploma or Degree qualification in Finance or Accounting
• At least 10 years’ experience, with a minimum of 3 years’ in a similar role with direct management of other employees
• Relevant work experience with an international audit practice is strongly preferred
• Demonstrable experience in SYSCOA
• Excellent people management and communication skills
• Fluent in Wolof, French, and English
