Job description / Role
We are working with one of the largest luxury retailers in the world looking for a Country Manager to lead their team in South Africa. You will be a crucial part of the company’s success as you lead their business growth and in setting up their operations in the country.
As a Country Manager, you will:
- Manage every aspect of expanding operations and retail growth strategies in South Africa and its surrounding countries
- Develop brand, sales and marketing, communication, and local networking strategies
- Oversee commercial side of the business and work closely with Commercial Managers
- Initiate and lead the development of retail operations including budget , P&L, sales and profitability, among others
- Recruit staff and build employee structure
- Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on progress and development
Requirements
- Master’s degree, MBA or other relevant field
- At least 8-10 years’ experience as a Country Manager, Operations Manager, Regional Manager, or similar, within the Luxury Retail sector is highly preferred
- Strong Sales and Marketing, and Commercial background
- Preferably with management experience in an international setting
- Deep understanding of the South African and nearby markets, and should have an extensive network/connections in the country
- Excellent people management, organizational, and negotiation skills
