Charterhouse is working with a Global Company which is looking to hire a Legal and Compliance Counsel to join their legal department in Johannesburg.

The role will involve working with all corporate, contracts and compliance maters across the Africa Region. The successful candidate will coordinate and manages Legal, Compliance and Data Protection topics within the Southern African Subsidiaries as an interface between the corporate function General Counsel (including Legal, Compliance and Data Protection / Information Security) and the Corporate Function and the regional and local organisation.

Requirements

The Company is interested in speaking to candidates based in Africa, with strong legal background in the region. You must hold a bachelor Degree in Law, having 3 to 5 years post qualification experience in Contracts and Corporate matters. Relevant experience in Compliance and Data Protection / Information Security are advantageous. Excellent communications skills in Business English both written and verbal. This role will require travel across South Africa.
