Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Responsibilities:
• Support specific or general requests of the project director with the goal of attaining the commercial objectives of the project
• Be responsible for development of commercial opportunities, negotiation strategies, customer correspondence, risk and opportunity management and any activity necessary to support of the project team objectives
• Ensure that appropriate project procedures, relative to procedures for notification, follow-up of, and replies to correspondence, the maintenance of files on the job site, and VOs (variation orders) or PVOs (potential variation orders), are properly understood by the members of the project teams and implemented in the projects
• Ensure efficient application of the claim management process
• Use cost control functions to establish and implement a systematic identification system for budgeting, cost recording, the processing and monitoring of change / variation orders and/or proposals for change, to ensure that all the costs relative to requests and additional work are noted and recorded
• Assist the project director in the realization of a detailed analysis of contract(s), and preparation of the Contract Summary Analysis for issuance to the project team depicting the key commercial issues of the agreement
• Participate in the preparation of the project commercial strategy and in its implementation
• Upon request form Management, oversee and/or resolve Guaranty / Warranty specific problems
• Identify the needs of the project team and the organization, including the members of the job site personnel, with respect to training and the sharing of exemplary practices in matters of commercial awareness, contract(s) management, VOs and PVOs, and as required, ensure the training and formal coaching of the personnel identified
• Oversee and handle the appropriate steps for project surety issues (i.e., Payment / Performance Bonds, Letters of Credit and Parent Company Guarantees, etc.). Monitor project insurance requirements and timely submission of insurance certificates to the Customer

Requirements

Qualifications / Requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree in business administration, finance, engineering, construction management or law
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial activities, strong understanding of contractual terms and conditions, primarily experience in contract management and dispute settlement as it relates to the Power Industry

Desired Characteristics:
• Practical knowledge of general and specific contract conditions contained in construction and equipment supply contracts as it relates to the Power Industry and/or FAR (USA)
• Good Computer skills and knowledge of the Windows environment (Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook)
• Demonstrated knowledge of conflict resolution and negotiation
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work in a matrix environment
