Business Development Lead

Business Development Lead – Rail / Infra - Europe

Our client is a leading consultancy, they are seeking a Business Development Manager with strong business development, project delivery and business management experience within the Rail/Infrastructure sector to win projects for them across Europe. Ideal candidates will come from an engineering background and will have a previous track record of business development across the public and private sectors in Europe. This role is client facing and is responsible for business development, implementation and management of BD strategies and would be working over various locations across Europe. The candidate placed in this role will be based in Spain.

Main Responsibilities:

• Responsible for strategic rail and infrastructure business development activities and to ensure business targets are met
• Develop and maintain effective client relationships
• Collaborate with the company’s directors to track, identify and pursue opportunities
• In consultation with the SVP, supports the bid/ no-bid process
• Using networks, helps identify, recruit and vet senior proposed staff
• Identify business development strategies
• Manage the proposal preparation process
• Monitor the financial performance
• Provide quality assurance services on Bids
• Ensure large infrastructure projects are delivered efficiently according to specifications
• Ensure compliance with government regulatory entities as well as with all relevant health and safety standards and policies

Requirements

Requirements:

• 15+ years of experience within engineering industry with strong proposal and BD management experience
• Previous roles of a similar nature for a reputable consultancy
• Bachelor or Master degree in Civil Engineering or similar
• Must be fluent in English language
• Strong editing and proof reading capability
• Excellent technical and communication skills
• Strong project delivery skills
• Experience doing BD for Rail and Infra in Europe
