LEAD STRUCTURAL ENGINEER - AIRPORT TERMINAL
We’re urgently seeking an experienced and dedicated Lead/Senior Structural Engineer to join our team on a key infrastructure project in Sri Lanka. This is a 1.5-year fixed-term contract focusing specifically on the execution and supervision of a significant airport construction/upgrade project.

Job Title: Senior Structural Engineer
Location: Sri Lanka (Specific project site to be confirmed)
Contract Duration: 1.5 Years (Fixed Term) 18 months
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a key member of the project team, your responsibilities will include:
• Design Review and Verification: Reviewing and signing off on structural design drawings, calculations, and specifications, ensuring compliance with international and local standards, particularly those relevant to airport infrastructure.
• Construction Supervision: The sucessful candidate will lead the structural team for the Airport Buildings, providing senior oversight of all structural works , including foundations, steel structures, concrete work, and specialized airport elements (e.g., terminal buildings, hangars, control towers). You will be overseeing the Consultants on this project.
• Quality Control & Assurance: Implementing rigorous quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) protocols to ensure the highest standards of construction and materials are met.
• Problem Solving: Providing prompt, definitive technical solutions and direction to structural issues and clashes that arise during the construction phase.
• Reporting: Preparing regular comprehensive progress reports, technical documentation, and communicating effectively with the Project Manager and international stakeholders.
• Safety Compliance: Championing and enforcing adherence to all project safety regulations and protocols within the structural construction area.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
• Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil or Structural Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Experience:
• Minimum 15 +years of relevant post-qualification experience in structural engineering.
• MANDATORY: Demonstrable, significant prior experience working on large-scale airport infrastructure projects (airport builiings including Terminal buildings Hangars and Control Towers)
• Design Code Proficiency: Must be proficient in British Standards as well as Eurocodes (EN/SLS EN standards), particularly for concrete and steel design (EN 1992 & EN 1993), including seismic design (EN 1998)
• Technical Skills: Deep understanding of structural analysis software and excellent command of relevant international and local design codes.
• Soft Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills; proven ability to manage site teams and work effectively in a demanding, multicultural environment.
• Eligibility: Must be willing and able to relocate and work in Sri Lanka for the full duration of the contract.
SALARY & PACKAGE
• The successful candidates should expect $11,000-$13,000 /£8,500-£10,000 per month
• Accommodation and Transport Provided on top of the salary
• Medical Cover Provided

Salary:
USD
11,000 to 13,000
per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
