Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Job Title: Sr. Petroleum Engineer

A)60%Operations: Provide petroleum and production engineering input for well work and field development activities.

1.Analyze well and production system performance based on comparing predicted versus actual production rates, water cuts, gas-oil ratios (GORs) and pressures at various points in the system. Use this comparison to identify possible operating problems or system bottlenecks.
2.Work with production operations staff to implement a program of fluid sampling, production tests, pressure tests, production logging and other surveillance activities designed to understand and control well performance.
3.Monitor performance of existing artificial lift installations and identify deviations from optimal production behavior. Troubleshoot operating problems and recommend corrective action as needed.

B)20%Control: Policy, procedure and risk mitigation.

1.Ensure that field performance and production targets are achieved safely and efficiently in accordance with company HSE policy and oil and gas industry best practices.
2.Maintain compliance with company's guidelines and requirements regarding the gathering, quality control, maintenance, storage and retrieval of technical data.
3.Ensure compliance with and proper application of company procedures and internal regulations, including those pertaining to confidential information, and recommend updates as needed.

C)10%Liaison and coordination:

1.Serve as a primary link between petroleum engineering, reservoir engineering, drilling and field operations groups to coordinate work schedules and objectives.
2.Liaise with field personnel to identify and address well integrity and other operating issues.
3.Provide assistance in data analysis and input for reservoir modeling and simulation projects.

D)5%Reporting: Prepare reports in support of department activities.

1.Provide reports to management on completion and production enhancement options and recommended strategies for optimizing production performance.
2.Provide technical evaluations and recommendations regarding surface and downhole equipment and suppliers.

E)5%Coaching, Training and Mentoring: Actively contribute to the development of staff.

1.Support department staff in meeting needs for employee training, development and skill gap closure.
2.Coach employees in order to build their knowledge and skills.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or higher in Petroleum EngineeringCertificates:

(All qualification listed Must be job related)At least 10 years of experience with an international exploration and production (E&P) operator with multidisciplinary team involvement. Expertise in offshore petroleum/production engineering, and solid understanding of drilling, completion, reservoir engineering and project management disciplines. Operational experience in drilling, well intervention and data acquisition operations.
