This course will introduce you to analysing the financial records of a company and addressing specialised accounting issues. It will explore business combination concepts and definitions, accounting for stock investments when significant influence and control exist. You will also study an introduction to Consolidated Financial Statements and the Consolidation Process, segment & Interim Reporting, partnership accounting and changes in partnership interest, liquidation process of a partnership, global accounting standards and diversity and ethical behaviour in business.

DURATION: 10 hours

SCHEDULE:

• Sundays and Mondays 6PM to 8PM or Fridays or Saturdays 8AM to 12PM.
• 2 hours per day for 5 days or 2 hours per week for 5 weeks.

CONTENT: Depreciation, Causes, Methods of Calculating Depreciation, Straight Line Method, Diminishing Balance Method and Annuity Method, Ratio Analysis, Uses and Limitations, Classification of Ratios, Liquidity, Profitability, Financial and Turnover Ratios.

At the end of the course, you should be able to analyse the financial records of a company and address specialised accounting issues.
