This course invites you to discover the knowledge and develop skills in terms of basic concepts and analytical tools of finance in both corporate finance and investments. This module explores the functions of business finance. It covers basic financial principles such as money, banking and interest rates. Also discussed in detail are the financial system, time value of money, risk and return, basic concepts in international business and global finance, and the use of accounting inform financial decision-making. The main purpose the course is to provide you with basic financial background necessary to understand the corporate segment of the economy.

DURATION: 10 hours

SCHEDULE: - Wednesdays 6PM-8PM, Fridays or Saturdays 3PM-5PM - 2 hours per day for 5 days or 2 hours per week for 5 weeks.

CONTENT: Topics include risk and return, financial institutions, efficient markets, valuation theory, capital budgeting, portfolio theory, cost of capital, and capital structure.

At the end of the course, you should be able to develop a strong foundation and a set of finance tools that will be useful in future employment and daily life.
