Over past few there is a tremendous increase in the population of the UAE as well as in the healthcare providers; As of 2010, the population in the UAE was estimated at 9,206,000, of which Emirati nationals represent 19 percent. There are currently 104 hospitals throughout the seven Emirates and the World Health Organization reports that there are currently 19.3 physicians and 40.9 Nurses and Midwives per 10,000 persons in the U.A.E. Secondly also there is increase of genetically influenced disease among the UAE population. All this is a need for the patients to be first diagnosed using molecular markers. As there is an increase in the number of patients, there is also increasing in the number of technical support who will be required in the diagnostics labs.

Upon successful completion of the program, the students shall:

• Get an overall exposure to various aspects of Molecular Diagnostics
• Understand the potential of Cellular & Molecular Diagnostics through knowledge of theoretical and experimental training.
• Develop various laboratory skill sets required to be a successful Professional Technican in Cellular & Molecular Diagnostics.

The candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university with at least 50 % marks or its equivalent CGPA in aggregate.
