Job description / Role

Engel & Völkers is one of the world’s leading service companies specialized in the sale and rental of premium residential property, commercial real estate and yachts. E&V recently signed a joint venture agreement with Dubai-based developer, Nakheel, to create a new company specializing in selling and leasing properties in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Through this new joint venture, Nakheel will be able to market its properties to more than 500 locations worldwide and benefit from exposure to a new international clientele, while Engel & Völkers shops can refer interested buyers to the joint venture in Dubai, leading to extensive cross-selling opportunities. Engel & Völkers is currently represented with more than 500 offices based in 38 countries spanning five continents.

As a growing business in Dubai, we are seeking a motivated Accountant to join our team. We are ideally looking for an accountant that has knowledge of both payables and receivables, although the role will mainly focus on payables. This person will work in a team of accountants, so teamwork is essential. Responsibilities include:
- Recording, accounting and logging of business transactions
- Assisting in the creation of monthly, quarterly and annual accounts.
- Carrying out payment transactions, invoicing and checking incoming invoices.
- Intercompany balancing.
- Contact partner for estate agents with questions about billing etc.

Requirements

- Completed a Bachelor’s degree, specializing in Finance / Accounting
- At least 3 years of professional experience in a Finance / Accounts position
- Previous experience in Real Estate will be an advantage, but it is not a necessity.
- Very good Microsoft Office skills: Word and outstanding, Excel skills, SAP B1 skills desirable.
- Good written and spoken English.
- Hands -on mentality, strong communication skills, team orientation.
- Independent, thorough and deadline-oriented approach combined with high motivation.
