Job description / Role

Position Summary:
Based within the Finance Department and reporting to the Financial Controller, the ‘Junior Accountant’, shall work very closely with him and the senior accountants in the areas of treasury, accounts payable and fixed assets.

Responsibilities:
Treasury:
• Treasury functions which includes the following:
- Assist the Senior accountant in managing bank accounts.
- Downloading the payables aging schedule and preparing reports for the Financial Controller to ensure suppliers are paid on time.
- Ensuring supporting documents (i.e. LPO as applicable, approvals, etc.) are intact for payments.
- Ensure that invoices are properly approved and verified as per Delta Partners Group companies’ approvals matrix.
• Maintain the cash books (both on the system and in excel) with tasks including the following:
- On a daily basis, upload the daily exchange rates in oracle.
- Closely monitor the bank balances on a daily basis and inform the group CFO, the Finance Controller and the AR team for any collections made.
• Prepare bank reconciliations on a monthly basis.
• Be one of the point of contacts for all banking relationships including pricing, interest rates, line of credits (if any), bank guarantee, etc.
• Managing the Petty Cash processing for all Delta Partners Group companies with the following key responsibilities:
- Review of petty cash reports submitted by various petty cash holders; and
- Review petty cash reconciliations.
• Performing various financial analyses and balance sheet reconciliations as required.
• Assist the Senior accountant-Treasury in recording of cash disbursements and receipts in the cash book maintained both in oracle and in the manual register.

Accounts Payable:
Suppliers
- Collation of all supplier invoices on daily basis that come through email, post and dropped through Finance team’s in tray;
- Stamp invoices on daily basis;
- Coding of invoices and preparation of invoice log for review before posting;
- Posting of invoices in the accounting system;
- Prepare new vendor creation forms, ready for review and creation by the AP supervisor;
- Proper filing of all invoices;
- Preparing payment vouchers and performing the payment process by ensuring the following:
a) Supporting documents (i.e. LPO as applicable, approvals, etc.) are intact;
b) Invoices have been properly posted before processing for payment; and
c) Invoices are properly approved and verified as per Delta Partners Group companies’ approvals matrix.

Fixed Assets
- Manage the Fixed Assets Sub-ledger on system
- Add Assets to Fixed Asset Sub-ledger and schedule as Assets are received and added via Supplier Invoices onto AP Sub-Ledger (Mass Addition)
- Prepare and maintain Depreciation Schedules and regularly reconcile against system-calculated depreciation
- Working closely with Office Admin Team to supply them Fixed Asset Details at the time of Office Insurance renewal
- Manage Asset Write-offs, Retirements and/or sales of assets (as needed)

Other areas
- As needed based on circumstances, he/she should be able to play multiple roles within the finance department providing active support in treasury, payroll AP, AR, etc.; without necessarily limiting himself/herself to areas that he/she is responsible.


*** Please note the salary range for this role is between 7-9,000 AED monthly***

Requirements

Experience and skills:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar position, including supervision experience
• Minimum level of qualification – Undergrad degree in Finance and Accounting or AAT or CAT
• Excellent analytical ability
• Proactive, hands-on problem solver
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task

• Knowledge of Oracle or similar ERP and accounting system
